Fondant Icing for beginners



Fondant icing is a type of icing which can be used for any type of cake and which gives a great finish to whatever you make. It's your responsibility to make the fondant perfect in order to give a better look to what you make. If you are beginner, you might have an idea that this icing is much difficult than the buttercream icing. The answer is a big NO.According to my point of view I guess that this icing method is easier than buttercream icing and you can give a nice finish to your cake or any other craving that you are making.Better to try it once and feel the difference. And the most important thing is ,it just takes few minutes to make this out.

INGREDIENTS
  1. Icing sugar 650 g
  2. 1 tablespoon of gelatin
  3. 4 1/2 table spoons of normal water
  4. Glycerin 1 tablespoon
  5. Glucose Syrup 1 tablespoon  
METHOD
  • Sift the icing sugar
  • Add 1 tablespoon of gelatin to a small cup and add 4 1/2 table spoons of normal water to it.
  • Mix them until gelatin become partially dissolved
  • Put the gelatin cup into a hot water basin and mix them until the gelatin dissolve fully in water
  • Put the gelatin mixture to a separate bowl, where you can make the fondant
  • Add 1 tablespoon of glycerin and 1 table spoon of glucose syrup to the gelatin mixture
  • Double boil after adding glycerin and glucose syrup until they dissolve in it.
  • Add icing sugar cup by cup to the gelatin mixture and mix it until icing sugar is combined with the mixture
  • After mixing for few minutes, fold it using your hand until the fondant doesn't stick and make a round ball using it(add any color if needed at this stage based on your preference while you fold the fondant)
  • Wrap the fondant in a cellophane and keep it in a col place for about 8 hours minimum.(do not refrigerate)
